Privacy policy.
What we collect, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it. Written plainly, because you should not need a lawyer to understand it.

Who we are
INC'D LTD ("INC'D", "we", "us") is an executive search firm for PE-backed essential services businesses in North America. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
Company number: 17207233. Registered office: 50 Princes Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom, IP1 1RJ. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@incd.co.
This policy covers incd.co, our forms and the executive search work we carry out for clients and candidates.
The short version
We only ask for what we need to run searches and represent candidates well. We never send a candidate's details to a client without a relevant conversation and the candidate's permission. We never sell personal information. You can see, correct, pause or delete your information at any time by emailing us or using the link in your confirmation email.
What we collect
If you are a candidate: your name and contact details, your LinkedIn profile, your current company, title and location, your résumé, your career history, the scale you have operated at, your experience with PE-backed businesses and acquisitions, the roles, verticals and locations you would consider, your timing, and, only if you choose to share it, your compensation expectations. During a search we also keep notes of our conversations, interview feedback and references you have agreed we can take.
If you are a client or prospective client: your name, work email, phone number, company, title, and the details of the role you are hiring for, including any job description you upload.
If you visit the site: basic technical information such as your browser type, the pages you visit and the address you came from. Our hosting provider also processes your IP address to deliver the site securely and block abuse.
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Please do not include it in anything you send us.
Where it comes from
Most of it comes from you, through our forms, by email or in conversation. Executive search also means we identify senior leaders who have not contacted us. When we do, we use professional information that is publicly available, such as LinkedIn profiles, company websites and press coverage, and referrals from people in the sector. If we hold information about you that you did not give us, we will tell you when we first contact you, and you can ask us to delete it.
How we use it
- To consider candidates for public, confidential and future searches, and to contact them about roles that fit.
- To run searches for clients: mapping the market, assessing candidates, taking references and supporting offers.
- To introduce a candidate to a client, only after a relevant conversation and with the candidate's permission.
- To respond to briefs, inquiries and messages.
- To keep the site secure, fix problems and understand which pages are useful.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not make decisions about people using automated systems alone. Every assessment is made by a person.
Our legal basis
For readers in the UK and Europe, the law asks us to name the basis for each use:
- Consent when you create an candidate profile or register interest in a search. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests when we identify and approach senior leaders for searches, keep in touch with candidates and clients, and protect the site. We only rely on this where it does not override your interests, and you can object at any time.
- Contract when we act for a client or take steps a client or candidate has asked us to take.
- Legal obligation when we keep records the law requires.
Who we share it with
Clients. We share a candidate's profile with a client only after we have discussed the specific role with that candidate and they have agreed.
Referees. We contact referees only with the candidate's permission.
Service providers who help us run INC'D and may only use information on our instructions: Cloudflare, which hosts the site, stores our data and protects it from abuse; our email delivery provider, which sends confirmations and search updates; and our analytics provider, only if you accept analytics cookies.
Legal and safety. Where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
A future owner. If INC'D is ever sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
International transfers
INC'D is a UK company working with clients and candidates in the United States and Canada, so information moves between those countries. Our service providers may also process it in other countries. Where information leaves the UK, we rely on recognized safeguards, such as the UK's adequacy decisions (including for Canada and, for certified US organizations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Candidate profiles stay active for as long as you want them to. We ask you to confirm your profile every six months. If we have had no meaningful contact for 24 months and you have not updated your profile, we delete it.
- Search records, including notes and references, are kept for six years after a search ends, because that is how long legal claims can be brought.
- Client briefs and inquiries that do not become searches are deleted after 24 months.
- Security logs are kept for no longer than 90 days.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner, unless we have to keep it by law.
How we protect it
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with our hosting provider. Résumés and job descriptions are kept in private storage that is never publicly accessible. Access to our systems is limited to the INC'D partners and team who need it, protected by single sign-on. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information.
- Pause your candidate profile, or stop contacting you about searches.
- Stop using your information on the basis of legitimate interests, or restrict how we use it.
- Send your information to you or another organization in a usable format.
- Withdraw consent you have given, without affecting anything done before.
Candidates can update, pause or delete their profile at any time using the secure link in their confirmation email. For anything else, email info@incd.co. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within one month, and we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.
US residents
Depending on your state, privacy laws such as those in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others may give you the rights above, including the right to know, correct and delete your information, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you can still use any of your rights by emailing us. An authorized agent can make a request on your behalf with your written permission. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we will review it within 45 days.
Canadian residents
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws, you can access and correct your information and withdraw consent, subject to legal limits. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We email you only about things you have asked for: confirmations, updates on searches you are part of, and your six-monthly profile check. We do not run a marketing mailing list, and we do not send generic job alerts. Our insights are published openly on this site for anyone to read.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and secure, including protecting our forms from spam. These do not track you across other sites. If we use analytics to understand how the site is used, we only do so after you accept analytics cookies, and you can change your choice at any time from Cookie Preferences in the footer. Forms may also save your progress on your own device so you do not lose your work. That information stays on your device and is removed when you submit the form.
Other things you should know
Children. Our services are for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Other websites. Links to other sites, including LinkedIn, are covered by their own privacy policies.
Changes. If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell candidates and subscribers by email.
Contact and complaints
Questions, requests or concerns: info@incd.co.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to the privacy regulator or attorney general in your US state.
